The FanDome

For Euro 2016 we wanted to give fans a chance to experience Football Heaven while watching the games, so we created the FanDome.

An immersive 360° football experience like no other, it was presided over by a group of tattooed cherubs and their leader, the somewhat less than angelic Vinnie Jones.

The dome itself was constructed in Kings Cross and had capacity for 1000 fans. Inside the wraparound screen was the same size as 12 cinema screens and the technology meant that bespoke animations reacted to big moments in the match for added drama.

To promote the FanDome I wrote a programme which was distributed with the Metro newspaper. It’s not often you get to ghostwrite something for a former Wimbledon striker and sometime Hollywood actor, but I guess that’s one of the perks of the job.
